Corsair XMS3 DHX 4GB DDR3-1600 kit
Benchmarking 1600MHz:CPU-Z:(Click thumbnails to enlarge)
We see from the image on the left that the RAM is running at 800.1MHz, so 800.1 x 2 = 1600.2MHz. We also see that our timings are 9-9-9-24, which are the rated values of this RAM. We even tweaked the RAM to run at 7-7-7-18!
Memtach v0.93 Alpha:(Click thumbnail to enlarge) The Memtach benchmark took 26.90 seconds to run at 1600MHz. This is compared to the same test at 1375MHz, which took 27.30 seconds. As you can see from the picture above, the following results were extracted:
This agrees with our expected conditions, which shows that faster frequencies produce faster test speeds.
Performance Test 6.1:(Click thumbnail to enlarge) Performance Test 6.1 shows us that the Corsair DDR3-1600 RAM running at 1600MHz gives us 827.9 operations per second, the Memory Mark result shows an average of 667.7, and a PassMark rating of 120.2. We saw earlier that
the Corsair DDR3-1600 RAM running at 1375MHz gives us 893.9 operations per second, the Memory Mark result shows an average of 672.3, and a PassMark rating of 121.0. RightMark Multi-Threaded Memory Test:(Click thumbnail to enlarge) The RightMark test was run on the RAM at 1600MHz giving us 4 minutes, 0 seconds. This compares to the previous run at 1375MHz giving us 3 minutes, 59 seconds. SiSoft Sandra XII:(Click thumbnail to enlarge)
During the Cache and Memory test, the Corsair DDR3-1600 kit registered 36.609 GB/sec. This did not rank well with our SiSoft test, as it is essentially based on the RAM timings against DDR2 RAM with lower timings. The previous test at 1375MHz ranked 36.143GB/sec. The same rule applies to the Memory Bandwidth test. The tighter the RAM timings, the better the results. Our tests show the memory bandwidth for the DDR3-1600 RAM at 1600MHz were 5877MB/sec for Int buffered iSSE2, and 5858MB/sec for Float buffered iSSE2. This compares to 1375MHz at 5776MB/sec for Int buffered iSSE2, and 5754MB/sec for Float buffered iSSE2. Finally, our Memory Latency test for 1600MHz shows 75ns, ranking #1 against the other Processor/Chipset combos. This compares to 78ns for 1375MHz.
