OCZ's nVidia SLI Ram
Having had a lot of experience overclocking ram until stable in the past, I was quite pleased to find that this ram did not let me down. With the aid of a small fan blowing across the ram to keep them nice and cool, I was easily able to find that the ram was able to reach a stable 1200MHz overclock (per CPU-Z noted as 600Mhz) using 5-5-5-18-13 timings at 2.4 volts. I was able to go a tad bit higher at 2.5 volts but found that the ram became unstable with my current ambient temperatures. The ambient temperatures for this review were 24-26 deg Celsius (or 76-79 deg. Fahrenheit) in the room, cpu temperatures hovered around 28 deg C. with system temperatures around 29 deg C. The test system was a BFG 680i SLI Motherboard, Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.66Ghz , the 2Gb of OCZ NVIDIA SLI READY ram and Dual NVIDIA 7900GS video cards in SLI. Results: If some of you are confused by the numbers from CPU-Z and the fact that although this ram is rated at 900MHz that it appears as 450 MHz (454.6 MHz for us) this is because CPU-Z does not resolve the double date rate speed from the ram in their results. As clearly shown in the image below taken using the nV monitor software from the motherboard, you can clearly see that the default memory speed is 909.333 MHz at the default 2.3V. Therefore we multiply the result by two for our overall resulting numbers.
Conclusion:
