Thermaltake's Video Test:
iXoft thermal video apparatus illustrates that heat is distributed evenly across the whole surface to enable faster heat dissipation. Test Program - 3D Mark 2006
Our Test:We at Techwarelabs decided the best way to test this for ourselves was to take the temperature of the laptop CPU just after startup, allowing it to sit on a desk for an hour at idle usage, then retaking the temperature. We did the same test sitting on the iXoft instead of a bare table, another test using Prime95 for an hour on the table, and a final test using Prime95 sitting on the iXoft. Our results were as follows:
Conclusion:The iXoft resulted in a large improvement in cooling. Our test showed that the laptop CPU ran 4.1 degrees cooler when sitting on the iXoft at idle, and 12.3 degrees cooler sitting on the iXoft when being tortured by Prime95. This product is properly priced at $28.99 for the white cooler, and $29.99 for the black cooler at Newegg.com.
