AMCC Storage 3ware 9690SA SAS/SATA RAID Controller
Introduction
As the new in-house enterprise hardware reviewer for TechwareLabs.com, I will be focusing my upcoming reviews and editorials on enterprise server hardware. The first piece of hardware that I have had the pleasure to review is the AMCC Storage 3ware 9690SA SAS/SATA RAID Controller. The 9690SA is an 8-Port RAID controller that supports up to 128 SAS and/or SATA2 devices.
Summary of Supported Operating Systems
- Windows XP [32-bit x86 & 64-bit x86_64 (x64) AMD Opteron/Intel EM64T]
- Windows 2003 [32-bit x86 & 64-bit x86_64 (x64) AMD Opteron/Intel EM64T] driver is logo certified
- Windows 2008 is not currently supported*
- RedHat EL 5
- OpenSuSE 10.2,10.3
- SuSE Enterprise (SLES) 10 , 10 SP1
- Fedora Core 6,7,8
- Linux 2.6.23 kernel or greater includes a driver for the 9690SA and 7000/8000/9500S/9550SX(U)/9590SE/9650SE series controllers
- All 9690SA drivers are backward compatible and can be used with the 9500S/9550SX(U)/9590SE/9650SE/9650SE series controllers
