Introduction

Media Centers – As TWL has covered in several reviews recently, home based media centers are becoming more of the next hot consumer electronics product for the home. With digital media devices such as digital cameras, digital camcorders, as the common household devices to capture moments, the viewing of these moments has in the past been limited to the home computer screen and those limited individuals with the technical know-how to convert this information into a readable format for their DVD or VHS. Now of course the camcorder can be connected the home TV, but the tasks to hook it up can be an ordeal which for some in the end, simply give up. So, with new technology should be convenience, right? The brilliant engineers at Mvix have come up with the MX-760HD, and today at TWLwe take it for a spin.

MVIX has several models with different features, which include MV-500R, MV-400U. The specs for these other models can be found on MVIX’s compare media device webpage here. We are taking a look at the MX-760HD model with “all the bells and whistles” and I have to say we are very impressed. The size of the device is the first noticeable feature, and with the dimensions of a medium sized book, it is easy to disconnect take with you at a moments notice. The MX-760HD comes without a hard drive, which isn’t needed if you’re planning on streaming everything from your PC, but if you plan on taking the device in the car, or to a friends’ house, then adding a hard drive will be required. We added a Western Digital 500Gig IDE drive with ease.
