Is Raid 0 Pointless for the desktop user?

pretty depressing, but hey, I needed more storage space anyway...

Umm I don't know how much I'd believe those scores because my sisters BF has RAIDed Raptors and they definately show more than a 20% increase... It makes me wonder about how good the Intel ICH5R I/O controller is rather than the technology itself.

everything from anandtech should be taken with a grain of salt...

I don't know if it's just me but I'm finding a lot of things here funny today.
