That's pretty interesting. From what they described, it appears quite similar to the anti-matter containment core (warp core) in Star Trek (TNG, Voyager, Enterprise). Someone sure did their research in figuring that out for the show, heh (and they have a necessary anti-matter containment field, which on occasion has been de-stabalizing...they had to fix that really fast, or blown everything up).

Next I want to see an article talking about temperal issues...that's really interesting stuff :-) (plus it deals with the recent episodes of Enterprise, for those of you who watch it).

yes, with linear accelerators, anti matter creations is a fact

actualy picard tells Mr. Crusher on the Enterprise D to set course and speed because he is the helm's man

Data is the science officer who sits besides Wesley or Mr. Hawkings in First Contact

and the only exception to Data setting course is in the end of First Contact he had to set course back to the 24th century due to the warp field has been modified to emit the chronicle emision to recreate the vortex for temperal travel

which has to do with science, not so much helm..

and incase of warp core breaches due to plasma coolent leaks or unstable warp core, they usualy ejects it in the worst cases as seen often in voyager...
they journey is way rougher than the Enterprise D's

glad u brought it up Omega
hehe
my trekkiness is here to express my true love for star trek

one of my fav episodes of star trek is the finale of TNG
"All Good Things"
and i actualy cried the first time i watched it...

no, for those of you who are wondering, i am not a wussy... :P

it can be found on kazaa if you havent seen it before
it is worth the dl for trekkies

i wont ruin the story for those who havent watched it yet
so i will just say it has to do with time and anti-time

funny...
both ideas of anti-matter and temperal comes together...

but it really makes sense if you watch that episode

my nickname in a game called Star Trek Armada and Armada II is =/\= Picard

=/\= is the symbol for my clan
we are called the AF
Armaggeddon Fleet
http://www.afvff.com/

site sucks
i quit the game last year
havent had much time to play those games...

i cant remember when Data is at the helm
but chances are he has been there a few times

so i guess you are right

good point raven, china probably have some spies in France now seeking their way into CERN trying to figure out how to relate this into a weapon

it takes so much energy to create it with linear accelerators though
like fusion, input is way greater than output
