yes, with linear accelerators, anti matter creations is a fact
actualy picard tells Mr. Crusher on the Enterprise D to set course and speed because he is the helm's man
Data is the science officer who sits besides Wesley or Mr. Hawkings in First Contact
and the only exception to Data setting course is in the end of First Contact he had to set course back to the 24th century due to the warp field has been modified to emit the chronicle emision to recreate the vortex for temperal travel
which has to do with science, not so much helm..
and incase of warp core breaches due to plasma coolent leaks or unstable warp core, they usualy ejects it in the worst cases as seen often in voyager...
they journey is way rougher than the Enterprise D's
glad u brought it up Omega
hehe
my trekkiness is here to express my true love for star trek

it can be found on kazaa if you havent seen it before
it is worth the dl for trekkies
i wont ruin the story for those who havent watched it yet
so i will just say it has to do with time and anti-time
funny...
both ideas of anti-matter and temperal comes together...
but it really makes sense if you watch that episode
