Default Contest Rules??

This is what Omega said in the "Techware Labs Giveaway **This One**" thread.

Maybe I misunderstood, maybe you guys want more than one post per person, not just one post.
Because all of the winners have more than one post, some of them have the most posts.

What is the exact rule you were trying to enforce?

Thank you.

No, like I said, we wanted exactly one post. Some people clearly didn't feel the need to obey that rule (no, it wasn't a loose suggestion), and posted multiple times. I deeply considered disqualifying them from the giveaway, as it bothered me greatly at the time, but decided against it.

I appreciate your thoughtfulness to ask about this. I thought it was fairly clear, but apparently not (and like you said, even more confusing now that other people did post repeatedly).

Bottom line:

The past is the past.

Maybe from now on, could only the people who posted once be eligible?

Maybe I'll mod it so that they can only post once in a certain type of thread. I don't know...now with another project here at school for me to work on I don't have much time on my hands

Haha, no, I really don't know. The point is that you shouldn't violate policy on the forums, whether it be posting guidelines, directions from a moderator or administrator, or rules of a contest.

I have to agree, it is disappointing to follow the published rules, only to find those who appear to have violated them most frequently win.
