Default WTF is with orders taking so long to process?

Well, I've placed five online orders for computer hardware in the past week, and I've noticed a fairly common trend. Four of the five sites from which I ordered took at least two days to process an order, and one of the places took about a week to actually ship it. The one site that had good, fast service, (not to mention the best price of the product on the web) was Directron. I generally don't have a "loyalty" to any particular site, I just go with whatever is the bottom-dollar price.

While none of the sites had a very good status tracking page, Directron was good and had UPS send an email when the package shipped, with tracking information (although the tracking information was never available anywhere on directron, that I could find, I could enter my order number, and after it had shipped it would track the package for me). One other site that took about two days to process the order also had FedEx send an email with tracking information once it shipped (BTW, FedEx's shipping is far superior to UPS, imo).

Idunno, I'd like a site that had a status page where it'd show all orders placed by me, and it'd list items purchased, price, date ordered, shipping method, and a the status of the order (pending, processing, shipped), with a link to the tracking page if the status was "Shipped."

Overnight shipping doesn't mean jack if it takes the company a week to process the order... If you can't tell, this has been agravating me somewhat.

Try www.newegg.com It'll keep your orders for about a month on the list. Tells you when it at the warehouse and when it's shipped. Then they have a link that goes automatically to your packages FedEx tracking record. I ordered on Friday morning shipped on Friday evening. Only thing that pisses my off is that FedEx sat on the package in Indiana for two days. Still I got it on Wednesday from the other side of the country. And they have good prices to.

It is frustrating. Crucial was very good for me, because on all three instances that I bought from them, I had received the RAM in less a week even though I had only gone for ground shipping.
