Default LG CED-8120B buffer underrun

Hi, I was able to burn about 8 - 10 mp3 songs to cd format onto a cdr at about 8X. Recently I could only do 1 song at a time at 4X. Now I can't even burn any without the buffer underrun error. Even at only 2X, I can only get about 80% before the underrun. I've already upgrade the firmware to 2.0. Can anyone help? I have an old 166MMX with 32M RAM and free harddrive space of about 1G. Thanks.

Make sure you don't have any programs running in the background. If you do, close them before you start the burn process.

I've closed down everything under the sun already.

It's strange since I can burn data on the cdr fine, just not mp3 to cd format.

Are these songs you recorded to MP3 or downloaded? I've downloaded several songs that wouldn't burn. I ended up deleting them and downloading them from another place until I got a version that would burn.

The reason you're probably able to burn a data cd without problems, but not an audio cd from MP3s is that for data it just has to read the data, and transfer it to the burner. With the audio CD, the burning program has to read, decode, encode, and then send the data to the burner. If you converted the MP3s to .wav prior to burning, I think that would solve your problem.
