Default Linux and Netgear

I jsut installed RH

but i cannot connect to the net

it cannot reach my router or something

i cannot activate my internet under netowork options

did you type the right imformartion into your router? follow the directions in the box for your router and thats prolly it.

I'm going to assume, for a moment, that the router isn't the problem. This doesn't mean it's not a possibility, though.

Are you trying to use DHCP or static IP specification for the Linux box? Once you've got your IP addressing information configured, can you ping LAN boxes? Can you ping the Netgear device? Can you ping the cable/dsl modem? Can you ping your default internet gateway, and/or internet dns servers?

It took me a few tries to get my (Mandrake) linux box to work right on my network.
