Yeah I never though Microsoft would actually charge for it. If they did, they would see a lot of heat for it.

Does it work good? Compared to ad-aware and spybot?

it works pretty well, but I wish it gave the user more control over what goes on.. it thinks it's running the place... when you install something, for example, it will say "blahblah was installed, and appears to be spyware free"... you don't get a choice.. somethings you do get a choice, but not often enough...

Meh, I don't really get spyware/adware, so I have no reason to install it on any of my boxes. That said, I felt obligated to take a look when it was released, so I had installed it on my work laptop (when it was initially released), and was rather neutral about it (obviously it didn't find any spyware/adware, but did identify a few things like Ethereal/WinPCap as threats), but it was annoying when I tried to disable it (ended up having to go through msconfig to make it not start up.
And, thankfully, I don't have to provide tech support for much of anything other than servers, so I haven't had an "opportunity" to test it out in that situation, either.
