Someone sent me this story yesterday and I loved it. I hope they really do have solid evidence connecting the MPAA to this hacker. That would be great stuff.

I may respect the copyrights of movies and music but I do not respect the orignizations responsbile for protecting those copyrights in the US, the RIAA and MPAA.

Whoa, interesting story. Torrentspy will win if they win in court, or simply if never even reaches court, as it shows that they won't let themselves be pushed in a corner.

I don't think they'll win, but it's a nice move nonetheless.

IF I was the MPAA, I would make an example out of TorrentSpy...

Well these guys had it coming; we're talking about extortion and blackmail here.

As for Torrentspy, they are guilty of "facilitating" the piracy job...but will that be enough to stop them; it's like saying that the Internet is "facilitating" the theft of softwares

i was just speaking generally about making examples of people or groups ... not whether they had it coming or not, which I agree they did have it coming and it's hilarious.
