Default Restoring the registry from DOS??

Recently I tried boosting my cable/dsl performance with registry entries from speedguide.net. Before I did this however I exported my registry to a file on my desktop in Windows 2K.
Luck will have it that the registry entries corrupted my system giving me ntoskrnl.exe errors and stop errors.
I have tried to boot to dos to run scanreg /restore but it says that it does not recognize the command. I have also tried F8 for last known configuration and that is corrupt also. I tried using the win 2k cd and do a repair but it will not let me login into my documents and settings folder without a password that is different than the administrator password.
I know that a good export of my registry exists on my desktop. The only question is how do I get to it to recover my registry and once I get to it what do i use. Like a fool I never made an ERD or a good backup so any help would be very much appreciated.

Thank you

JJ
