I'm going to be using the Abit  KG7-Raid socket A Board with
an AMD 1.4 ghz T-Bird. I would like to keep it under $60 or
close to that. I will be using the Antec SX1030 case

Tokey...if you have spared no expense with the KG7 mobo and the 1.4 T'bird, why would you be frugal with the cooling?  From everything I am reading on the forums and other sites, I would say the Swiftech M462 would be your best bet.  I know it is $79.95 ... and even more with shipping, but all the tech reviews say this is the cooler to have.

By the way, how do you like your KG7?  I would love for you to do an informal review and submit it here on Netsmog...set up, any problems with adding cards, etc.  Isn't the KG7 the new Abit card that just came out?  Let us hear from you.  Thanks.

Personally I would prefer an ethyln glycol {antifreeze} cooling  system for a hot CPU.  Get all the heat out and route the coolant lines outside to a small car raidator to disipate the heat so all the noise fans can be relocated next to the neighbors apartment.  But then again I've allways been one for overkill.  Oh Well

Just put your computer in the refrigerator and crack it to the coldest setting.  Next, do some serious overclocking and stuff the frig with cold beer!

Only one last thing to do when freezing the pc - what KIND of beer to stock? Miller time!  Decisions, decisions. I agree on using a liquid coolant wouldn't be such a bad idea, only thing is they are flammable. But I guess if you are careful enough to keep it in proper conditions and containtment. It should it heighten the PC's performance in speed categories. Just make sure that you're not mixing any acids with a base. Bad j00 j00 >.O
