Well the ocean is where some of it goes without us knowing, but that doesn't help anyone but the person dumping it into the ocean.

I don't think that we can wait until we have cold fusion. It will be a couple of decades until we have that. Try using geothermal energy, or even wind and the sun. What would be the best type of powerplant is a Hydrogen power plant. It uses water, so there is no pollution from it.
