Default Lord of the Rings

I am really interested in the Lord of the Rings.  I have read and enjoyed all of the books in the set.  I am wondering if anyone here has seen the movie and how does it compare to the book?

Thanks

keefe

I saw it the day it opened here in San Diego.  Talk about an epic movie!  It truly lives up to that notion.  Although the movie was three hours long, it was very good and always kept you in the movie.  It also kept true to the book.  I just wish they released all three of them so I can just watch it in one sitting. Now I have to wait until next year to see the continuation.  My butt really didn't know it was going on three hours until near the end where one cheek finally got numb...hahaha!  ;D  I highly recommend this movie to the fantasy/action movie types!  You won't be disappointed.

Well I finally caved in and went and saw it up in the country.

All I can say is that it was about as true to the book as it could have been and even though it was 3 hours long, my mind didnt stray ONCE....and when we got out of the cinema I looked @  my watch and could not believe that it was 3 hours long....I think ill go see it again when Im back in Sydney....movies are about the only place to take refuge from the smoke @ the moment.  :
