You could also probably setup a gear system or something that turns real slow, and put LED's on there. You see where I am coming from?

are u thinking like 3 or more LED lights sitting on a round plate with a wheel with a hole attached to it that rotates

and when the hole gets on top of the LED light, the light gets through...

thats one solution
but maybe something smaller is needed in order to fit into an orb
