Default RAM Speed

I plan on upgrading my DDR RAM with another 256MB's, but I don't know which speed to get. I've heard that you need corresponding RAM speeds and types otherwise you'll get errors. True? If it is true, how do I find out what speed my RAM actually is.

Yep, it's true. You need DDR ram, but your board has to be DDR compatable. I have 2 sticks of 512 DD333 which is PC2700. Just make sure your board supports it.

he knows ddr has to be ddr.. he means like pc3200 or 2700.. check the numbers and stuff on your ram and look online. Or check cpu-z, it's a program and should be able to tell you.

Right, it should be very nicely put on a sticker on the outside of the stick. All the ram I've used has labled it quite well.
