Default Obsolete Operating Systems a Security Risk

A recent research paper and survey has found that over a quarter of the computers in the companies surveyed is still running a 9x distribution of Windows. With support for 95 already gone and 98 to follow on Jan. 16 of next year this leaves many people without a source for patches to known security vulnerabilities. Upgrading would be the answer but if you factor in at least some hardware upgrades (if not a whole system), the training for the user, and the Operating System upgrade itself, and multiply this by the amount of users in need of the move it can be a substantial amount of money.
