X31 is 3.6 lbs

T41 is 4.9 lbs

will i really feel the difference? (ill be carrying books and notepads as well up to a mountain where my university is...)

the 2nd one is faster.. all i saw from the first look over.. i'm too lazy to go through it again

yes it is
but not as portable as the first

the first one is really small and light
and thin too
something i want

ive actually set 80% of my decision on the X31 now
looks like ill just dump cd images onto the 1GB thumbdrive
and/or get a external combo drive for 180 CAD

You'll notice a pound and a half for sure after carrying it around for a while. If you can add a CD burner to make file transfers easier in some cases, I wouldn't hesitate recommending that one over the T41. The speed difference is very insignificant and will actually decrease battery time, especially with it having so much more powerful of a video chipset. Get the X31 man.

the only thing is i ordered it and i have to wait 4 weeks for it to get to me...
they have a shortage on X31 right now
