Hopefully by then the HD discs will be implemented giving us 27Gb.

vee_ess .. you mean the blue-laser based ones?? I agree, especially if they end up doing a dual layered and implement +RW type technology. That'd be like a freaking harddrive on a plastic disk that would cost $1 not too long after going main stream (2-3 years). you could fit like 3 weeks of unending mp3's on that. i remember when CD-R's came out and i could backup an entire harddrive to one. (shakes cane and goes back to sleep)

LOL all this does make one feel old doesn't it? Yeah I meant the blue-laser DVD's. Dual layered would push those discs to 45GB and double sided dual layered discs would hold 90GB. That's hard to fathom for me. I wonder if we will ever use D-VHS's for computer data storage seeing the comeback VHS's are likely to make.

im happy with my 2.3x dvd rw external.........i dont need 8.3 megs

when theyre 50$ maybe ill get 1
