Default New Service Pack for Win98??

Seems that there is a new Service Pack for windows 98, if this wasn't enough shock, Its not even from Microsoft!

I have to express my sincere sadness that there are still people using Windows 98.
At least 98 was a better option than Windown ME though.

If your using windows 98, procede with the new SP patch at your own risk. Microsoft has stopped supporting Windows 98 and I doubt if you will get tech help for a patch thats not even made by them if it messes something up.

Hell my computer at work is Win NT 4.0, no service patches. Pentium 2 350mhz, 64mb ram, built in vid card, 10 gig hd. I am hoping it catches fire and self destructs.

the rest are old sluggish pos 98's.. the IT people at my school are NOOBBETS...

Default 98 Patches? Not Likely

Ok folks, here's the scoop! Any PATCHES, CURRENT UPDATES, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT most likely are VIRUSES!! ESPECIALLY if you get them in your EMAIL. This INCLUDES ANYTHING for WINDOWS! No matter what version you are running. According to Microsoft, THEY do NOT send anything like this through thier email.

I asked because I saw somewhere that there was a NEW SECURITY PATCH Disk and I went to Microsoft and ordered it. Sure enough it DESTROYED my computer. THAT was a good thing actually, because NOW I run 2000 instead of 98. Well, anyways I have been receiving CONSTANT email from such places as MS Net Email Storage System, webmaster@mail2.vecernji-list.hr AND Adm HQG stating a security patch for windows or such was attached. I never opened these emails and come to find out they had VIRUSES in them. My NORTON caught them.

After what happened with the previous disk I had NO INTENTIONS of applying another one. So I asked Microsoft and they said they NEVER send patches or updates thru email.

So Ya'll beware out there you here!
