Default HELP! Periodic loss of connection with wireless

I have a Linksys WMP11 wireless card and a Linksys router. The router isn't that old, and I bought this card a few days ago.

Sometimes, i lose my internet connection, even though windows says that i have a connection to my router. The signal is very good, so that isn't the problem.

Is there a piece of software that I can use for my wireless connections besides windows?

I installed the drivers, and instaled the config utitlity, but that gave me even more connection problems.

I have windows xp home SP1
