use laptop screen on a pc??

I just took apart my laptop to clean it out, and because I was curious. I have had it for about 3 to 4 years now, and I never had the right tools on me to do the job. I loved it. Anyhow, I am thinking of building a bare-bones desktop with a good graphics card, and whatever spare parts I can strip from my compaq presario laptop. After doing some research, like you all did, I am very surprised at the results. I was expecting it to be easier. Almost every post on other forums, all over the internet states that it is near impossible to do. Anyway, I was wondering if those controllers would work for just a regular LCD screen from a fairly new laptop. Do you all think it is worth it?
