Default Getting somone's IP address with MSN messenger

hello,

I'm always interested in what happens behind the scenes... This is why I installed a packet sniffer on my computer and started checking out what happens.
When I wanted to retrieve the IP address of the person with whom I was chatting I saw that normal messages go throug a server. While file transfer happes P2P obviously...
Does anyone have any idea how to retrieve the IP address?

thanks,

MuSHi

Yeah,

In reply to your question on how to achieve a persons IP address i can tell you it's no easy job, but a great alternative is to connect onto a MSN Forum and there you can see a peoples IP Address's easily as they chat on the forum

All Luck...

You can't see their IP because all the data is routed through the server, unless you are on a direct connection. Netstat lists all connections on your system.
