Default Is AMD Hurting the Entire Industry?

http://www.iht.com/articles/537180.html

Why do I ask?

Quote:
Chip stocks fell across the globe on Friday after Intel, the market leader, slashed its forecasts for revenue and profit margin for the third quarter, citing unexpectedly weak demand.
and later

Quote:
Walia, at RBC Capital Markets, said the softness in Intel's communications business was a result of intense price pressure in competition with Advanced Micro Devices.
.
"They are seeing vicious competition from AMD in flash," Walia said.
therefore it follows that AMD is destroying the chip industry..

Ok, isn't it something called "market competiton?" That would be Intel's fault, they should have come up with a faster chip, and they didn't. Their Prescott chip pretty much sucks.

it doesn't suck, it just isn't enough of an improvement to warrant an upgrade for pretty much anyone with a good northwood chip.

I would personally rather have the Northwood chip if I was into Intel. I have a Northwood in my laptop.

how does this destroy the market?
there are still same amount of ppl buying CPUs if not more

just more going towards AMD and less going towards INTEL
nothing wrong with that unless you are really biased to intel

its Intel's fault for not bringing the 64 bit platform on earlier
AMD got a headstart on it
and they are ahead in the workstation and server area now
mobile wise, intel still has the clear lead
ive got a Banias Pentium M 1.5GHz with Centrino wirelessPro2100 in my IBM as well
sweet little laptop
speaking of which, ill post some pics now

There's a hurricane destroying Florida. Must be AMD's fault, too.
