Default Antagonistic posters

Have you ever posted in a forum just to have the local forum whore post something that completely disrupts the topic?

Makes you want to just jump through the monitor and kick that person in the nads. >

have you ever made a thread that does nothing but complain and make assumptions about someone that used their free time to help you? Yes, you have!

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're having a bad day; But please, think twice about people's intentions before jumping to conclusions.

Or...he could be refering to me way back...a couple months ago. The sole reason he left the board I believe. I'm pretty sure our petty differences are put aside however, at least I hope that is the case. I never properly welcomed him back to the board. Welcome back to the community CiKoTiC.

No, the post wasn't directed at anyone specifically. I read a lot of threads on other boards (including this one) and noticed that there always seems to be one person that posts in every thread and generally takes the opposite view and/or injects something completely off topic just for the sole purpose to getting a word in. It's aggravating sorting through all the "noise" when you trying hard to find a solution to a particular problem.

For example, someone wants to know how to get USB to work on Windows 98 in a hardware support forum and it turns into a "why are you using Windows 98?" thread. How does that resolve the problem? The user is obviously using USB on Windows 98 and needs help. Maybe he has no choice but to use USB on 98. If there is a solution to this problem, post it. If there isn't a solution, post it, but don't ridicule the user because what he has to work with.

The majority of the people out there are not as computer literate as some of us so they come to forums seeking help. Not to be put down or given ambiguous information that is of no use to them.

All I'm saying is that if someone wants to offer help, post something that is useful. Not something that is 3 to 4 words in length in the form of a broken sentence that nobody can understand. Step up and be the hero. Post something that not only helps that person, but helps others seeking the same advice.

Edit:// Forgot to add this.

Thanks MIK3. Good to see you are still alive and kicking. I didn't leave TWL because of any spats. I left because I went back to school. I was working full time during the day and going to school at night. I didn't have time to do anything but study. I graduated in August and slowly but surly getting back into the swing of things.

hey cikotic, lets not bother with these things

why do we care so much since we arent mods

complaints will only stir up mini flamo wars
and i really hate to see that

lets just please lock this thread (but not delete) and move on with life the way it was before this TWL forum family gets torn apart again

It used to be a much, much bigger family. Lots of regulars are gone, with about 5 or 6 left. I think that Cik is right about the nature of a lot of posts on pretty much any forum anymore and that this type of posting is the reason why we've lost most of the community. This forum has always gotten most of its posters from them seeking help. Since most of the regulars apparently don't know about computers other than 3DMark scores, threads where help is seeked are often littered with useless posts with only a few helpful posts among them. I'm going to step it up in my moderating and start deleting unhelpful posts in threads where help is seeked. Since I don't have the time to come here every day (sometimes every week would be more applicable) I ask all of you to watch your posts and avoid littering in threads where a solution is needed.

BTW, I like the "Edit://" as opposed to "Edit: " Cik.
