Default How to speed up 56k and it works!!! really no joke

About a month ago I was complaining cuz I couldnt get broadband, but now I found this thing called OnSpeed which speeds it up and it actually works not like aload of other things i've seen.
Basically what it does is it redirects your net connection through a server and compresses it then it sends it to your computer then the software decompresses it and it bloody works I'm so happy.
It costs £25 a year which is nothing and it works in the states and aload of other countries.
So far it only works on images text and flash, but theyre releasing a new version soon which has mp3 and mpeg4.
I think it might work on broadband too but im not sure.

BULLSHIT

You cannot send more data than normal through 56k lines. All it's doing is reducing the quality of files that come back through hence speeding up the download process. Hence it's not making your computer connection any faster.

There's no need to be such a cock about it, I said speed up, as in less time to load a page not magically transform my line, they even say that you can't change the speed of your internet connection.
Did you actually read any of that post or just read the title?
Was it just me or did I say "compresses it then it sends it" which sounds remarkably like your comment about reducing the quality of the files, the thing is they have got pretty good compression algorithms so you dont really notice, I've even used one picture in combustion which needs high res pictures.

I found this little paragraph that explains better than I can...

"DSL uses copper twisted pair wires just as regular telephone lines and ADSL typically shares the same wires voice communication uses. Normal telephone service often referred to as POTS (Plain old telephone service) uses the frequency range between 0 and 3,400 Hertz. Copper lines used for POSTS can handle a significantly higher range of frequencies, which transfers to how much data is possible over the wires. DSL uses some of the unused frequencies not used by POTS to transfer data. Because DSL has a larger amount of frequencies available to it, DSL is able to send and receive more data than a standard modem can that is limited to the 0 to 3,400 Hz frequency range."
