Yes guys n gals,

There are several flavor of *nix out there absolutely free and if you're brave enough you can replace those NT servers for absolutely nothing but your time and effort to learn something new  :P

Most people still using NT servers for their web servers do so becuase their sites are designed in .asp and database driven.

Yes I know you can do php and sql on *nix and yes I know it's free. But what about the .asp's?

Well there is a solution for that and be it not free it is stable and affordable.

Cobalt has software for just about all flovors of *nix called ChiliSoft which provides the ability to do .asp in a *nix environment.

If you purchase a RaQ server it comes preinstalled as does apache and mysql along with php.

If anyone is interested I'd be more than happy to give any netsmoggers a 10% discount on either just the software or the RaQ servers as well. Just for example:

The RaQr ~
450 MHz CPU
512MB DRAM
Dual 40 GB Hard Disks
Dual Ethernet Ports
Ext. SCSI Port
Single PCI Slot
RAID 1

$2,199.00
     -10%
Your cost
$1,979.10

Laters and for those of you who chose the free - way  ;D no harm no fowl. I myself use RaQ servers and FreeBSD servers the latter being one of the freebies and it runs awesome for all that I do. Minus the .asp
