I'm going to have to assume the I-Opener was one of those internet appliances that never really cought on.  What was the original retail value?  Seeing as how it had an LCD, it couldn't have been too cheap, unless some ISP did a deal where they'd give you it free, or discounted, if you sign up for a contract with them...

The thing is they were like $100 or $200 at best buy when you signed up for an ISP service contract that you could easily get out of. of course they sold like hot cakes once it was found you could mod them and install Linux or Windows. The power came from the fact that you could put them where a normal PC wouldn't work (like the kitchen). If you had a home lan, everything was saved on the network. and if you had DSL or Cable, Internet was a breeze. In later models, they tried to make them hack prof which just made it all the more a frenzy to hack them and thus void the Warrenty! :-)

i want computers anywhere, but i want them to be tough and welldesigned, so if i had a comp in tha kitchen, id mod it, that it has a good place, is looking like a real comp, not like a breadbox with  lcd and give him a watercoolin´right outta tha freezah ;D

I think i am going to put my i-opener in the bathroom.  I have always wanted to surf the web while I was well...you know.

If that doesn't work out i am going to put it on my coffee table in my living room.
