one thing is ive seen an iMac suffered from heat before
and it had some kinda failure...

wonder how Apple keeps their laptop thin yet cool...

In response to eviltechie's comment about iMacs and heat:

I've actually seen it happen...to an iMac and an eMac. The display got all distorted, and then they shut down the computer. Then turned it back on, and the display was all misconfigured (way off center, refresh wasn't working right...). It's a faulty thing somewhere though...not an inherent flaw.

ah i see

it might be the power supply...
cause the whole plastic casing was hot for the iMAC i saw in my school's library...

Pc manufacturers might configure there laptops like the powerbooks, but it costs more to do it that way. And I don't think that they could put all that stuff and still make that thin and have a good cooling system. Most Pc makers are looking at the bottom line and not the newest technology. They will build what the majority wants. Now with Apple they think different. Their notebooks and computers have always been innovative and more costly. Does anyone remember the 20th Anniversary Mac? That was the most expensive mac for a long time. It was also one of the nicest designs for a computer.
