fell asleep? nice attention span there Jason.......

personally i read the article, and felt that a lot of things in there insulted my intelligence and i am not sure what kind of computer knowledge the person who wrote this article has...

This article makes me want to write a nasty response lol

Primo Example of this writer's lack of knowledge.....

"Hmmmm, wait a minute. I went to www.getfirefox.com, not mirror.sg.depaul.edu. I don't have any idea where that place is, and it sure makes me nervous. IE has informed me that "If you do not trust the source, do not run or save this software."

Not only does this software come from a completely random university server, but I have no way of checking if it is the authentic Firefox install or some maliciously altered copy. (I sure hope those 10 million people who have downloaded Firefox so far haven't all download backdoors into their system...). Since "You should only run software from publishers you trust" and since the publisher cannot be verified, I should click Don't Run (which is, thankfully, the default)."

Does anyone here honestly think that Microsoft would want to be able to verify the publisher of the firefox browser since firefox will more often than not be replacing microsoft's browser?

oh, and the point i was trying to make is that lots of major sites run their downloads off of mirrors..... Ad-Aware has mirror sites, download.com frequently uses them too.....

just seems that this writer is not very knowledgable, or has not done his research....

I only get spyware and bugs when I use IE, but since I've been using Firefox, I have maybe gotten 1. Now tell me that IE is better! Microsux can kiss my butt, their browser sucks and it's not innovative. Tab browsing rules!

If you look at the way the programs work, both have very similar methods of adding on components. The fact is, if these add-on methods of the browsers weren't there, large amounts of functionality would be lost. It's a necessity. Now, for those who say they've used both and that they haven't gotten any spyware via FF but they have via IE, I say think about it. Most people who don't know computers very well use IE. Those who are trying to spread spyware to their targets are likely not going to use IE. As more people switch to FF, those responsible for browser hijacks will switch to FF, as well.

That's true...That's also the reason I was wishing that FF would stay a cult thing, but still more ppl are going to use IE, and we still have Spybot out there that helps us combat those bastards who write spyware.
