Default SQL programming as a career

How hard is it to learn SQL programming from the ground up?

i'm no expert by any means, but a decent place to get some basic learning is w3schools.com. they have a pretty good SQL tutorial.

like i said, i only do SQL for website backends, not for actual data warehousing or anything. i'm far from expert, but i know enough to get what i need done.

I'm not having much luck finding good paying jobs as a systems or network administrator in this area. However, there are daily openings for programmers and SQL programmers. In addition to more openings, the pay is on average double what admins make.

nice. maybe take a few classes at a local tech school or somthing. that could help the learning process, and maybe build some credibility. is there a cert for SQL? i've never even thought about that before.

hey CiK, how tough is the CIW?
