Default AMD Challenges Intel To A Dual-Core Duel

In this corner weighing is the hefty chipzilla boys in space suits; INTEL, and in the opposite corner we have the men in Green and Black; AMD.

AMD has Challenged Intel To A Dual-Core Duel. Sounds like a title bout with ring seats going for a premium in this sure to be sizzling silicon match. You can bet each contender will bring out the big guns if Intel accepts the challenge. Interesting to note is that AMD could come out a really big winner by default if Intel doesn't accept the challenge. On the other hand, if Intel ever had an ace up their sleeve this would be the time to show it. From all accounts though it looks like AMD knows they have the performance edge right now and are giving the boys in space suits a real kicking while they're down.

Read more about the matchup here.

We have some inside news from the AMD camp and will be sure to bring you the latest as it develops.

You know, after reading that, it does appear a tad childish on AMD's part... but desparate times do call for desparate measures!

Actually I think its brilliant on AMD's part. At this point in time Intel would be foolish to accept a challenge given the lack of performance of their server grade chips in comparison to the Opteron line. Additionally with the occurance of IDF its good timing for AMD to let people know exactly how confident they are that Intel chips arent making the grade.

yeah, they do seem to have their act together performance-wise, but I think such marketing would better fit the the home-based crowd

Nah, Intel just needs to stop paying Dell off so that they can start making AMD machines...I would consider them then. Otherwise, I hate my P4 in my laptop, it's so slow, and it's a 3.06!
