I got a question for y'all

Does Netsmog.com condone their members spamming advertisements for this site on other sites?

I'm not sure how this site works and I won't make any assumptions about it, which is why I asked the above question.

Unless I've missed something, no members from I am Not a Geek have come here to spam for IANAG, which leads to the whole confusion about why techman has come to IANAG to spam for Netsmog.

This (blatant spamming) happened previously on the Overclockers Network forums, and when some people started registering here and commencing a good old fashioned boarding party, we were all banned. ;D

For the record, I am only a member at IANAG and I do not presume to speak for the whole of IANAG, only for myself.

Anyways, I hope I am not being too invasive here, but considering the circumstances I felt I needed to come here to both make my inquiry and clarify my stance.

You have a point I do believe. I cannot speak for Netsmog, I only hang out here now and again.

It is definately not cool to go to other boards and promote yours. I frequent lots of boards and when I'm there I'm there because I like to read what's there or post my thoughts and comments.

I would emplore the Administrator of this site to rein in it's members and avoid such posts on others boards as it's inapropriate unless a request is made of the administrator of said board and is approved prior.

It doesn't reflect well upon anyone to just blanket a bunch of boards with unwanted solicitation. Bad mark against netsmog for it happening. This is a good board, would hate to see it shot down by using bad tactics.

Just my thoughts.

I don't see the big deal.  I don't spam other sites but come on.  Unless they go around and put a post in a bunch of threads what's the problem.  Let's all keep everything to ourselves and never talk to anyone.  BB are made to spread information.  If you start saying what you can and cannot say your starting censorship.  If it gets out of hand yhea it's a problem but get real.  All this "quit spamming" us is about one step from "she's got cootie's"  Get a life.  I don't advocate spamming as you call it but let people speak their mind.  Besides how do you know you don't have a user using both and they wanted to pass on the word to someone else.  Don't be a dork and start some pissing contest.
