Default AMD's Hammer has 100 million transistors

ZDNet has a nice small writeup on AMD's Hammer. There's a lot of new information in this article, and also takes a look at Intel's future plans.

Hammer is a "100 million transistor machine," CEO Hector Ruiz said in a recent interview.

Read it @ ZDNet.

I'm a software/hardware engineer, i'm not into business strategy and stuff like that, I have this question about AMD's hammer project: is it true that AMD is switching thier minds/priorities on the Hammer project? And is it true that AMD is going to loose the race against INTEL if they don't act quickly on where to concentrate thier efforts.

I've heard a lot of positive criticism, They say that AMD is smart and INTEL has brute force. Whats the score? I am currently using brute force, no plans to be smart.
