Default Problems with Norton?

Anyone else run into problems with Norton 2002? I was prompted a day or two ago to run the auto update thing. Of course, after running it, I was promted to restart. I didn't since I was working on some stuff.

Well, a few days later(today) the power began to flicker a bit. I shut my computer down, as I know this can't be good on the power supply. After the lights quit flashing, I start my computer back up. Everything went fine, untill it initalized the IDE deviced, then it locked up(and I mean after post. I have IDE tool going...) So, I tried it again...same problem. I started in safe mode, and disabled the IDE tool...same problem. Then I remembered norton. I uninstalled it, and sure enough, it loaded up just fine.

Anyone else have this kinda problmes? I'm about to reinstall it, but I'd like to hear if others also had this problme first...

i've found norton tech support to be pitifully dumb. all they do is post KB articles in their emails, (even if you've told them you've read their KB and quote from it). that being said, it could be helpful to go ahead and email them. but if you want help, you'll need to post more information. norton makes many products (NAV, NIS, NSW, NU, NG, etc.).
