Default Thermoengine HSF Mod

I know I know, this HSF is really old, but it has a good design and efficient cooling. ((Hey Vantec Aeroflow coppied the concept.))

Because the Thermoengine is such an old HSF I have decided to mod it, by inserting a copper surface with the center of the HS filled with distilled water.

Any concerns or suggestion (liquid types, coin types etc.) would be much apreciatied.

thx

im planning to use a relatively pure copper penny 95% copper 5% other stuff. (the other 5% shouldn't make much of a difference)

Is distilled water OK?? or should I use something else??

there is some kind of oily compound that they use in heatpipes

thermal conductive liquid is the category they fall in

you can do some googleing on that and see if you can get some of those

i got mine from Coolerguys.com

http://www.coolerguys.com/Merchant2/...y_Code=CPC-AMD

they dont sell vantec any more but they now carry coolerguy's sister company's product that share the same line as vantec

not sure if it is the cheapest, when i bought it last year, it was a cheapest place for it

I think I will go with an Arkua 6228 Itz cheap and performance is upto par with the Vantec Aeroflow.

Unless I can find a copper rod to insert into my Thermoengine.
