AGP8x is AGP4x backward compatible

but there is no point in having a good card just for CS

CS isnt graphics demanding
there might be background programs running when u were playing
check the task manager list

i'm not just getting it for CS. and no there are no progs running in the backround. i just wish i could fix this problem i have the resolution 800x600 to eliminate most of the problem but i hate it like that and i never had this problem wehn with dial up.

ok maybe a decend card

but u need a better comp to get the most out of 9800
the whole thing will be a bottleneck for that card

yeah thats what i was asking about the 9800 for cause i only have a 4x agp slot so i would be better off with a 9700 because i wouldn't be able to get the most out of the 9800 because of the 4x.but dude it didn't lag like this will dial up.because i have ddr ram does that mean i have to get a video card with ddr or can it be anything?i want ddr anyways cause it's faster but i'm having my mom by me a video card like a GeForce2 or something just to hold me over until i get my job.

you wont get the most out of 9800 not even 9700 and its not just because of AGP8x

its also your processor is too slow to get the maximum performance out of 9700

i would consider going atleast 2GHz P4 before getting a 9700 Pro

no u dont need to have identical type of memory for video card and system

Geforce2 MX200, lowest of Geforce2 is just fine for CS because i had one with my athlon 1.2

it was all good
i think there must be some programs u forgot to close
or u turn some graphics features on
u need to play with display options a bit in both CS and your display properties/advanced
