The significance of removing Rnaapp.exe from Windows System and re-housing it elsewhere has not, perhaps, yet dawned upon you, dear reader, and a lot of other readers too, I guess.
The reason why you experience the Defrag, or Scandisk, application having to re-start a number of times, is because Rnaapp.exe is resident in your Computers Memory.
It is still there now, if the Computer is switched on, and, of course, after every Start-up. This is because it is part of Windows System. It might not be causing you problems right now, but like 'Arnold Swarzenaeger', it will be back!
In addition to causing all kind of Computer glitches, like the problems you experienced, it the direct cause of problems experienced whilst trying to 'burn' music CDs. It is also the main culprit of Computer crashes.
There is also a security risk in having Rnaapp.exe located in Windows System, a simple Cookie can be encoded with instructions to dial out, say at a time when you are not at home, it wouldn't be able to dial out if it couldn't find Rnaapp.exe.
Recently, I placed an on-line order with Comet,
www.comet.co.uk, and the cookie they placed on my machine was found to have placed spies in three different locations in my Registry, this is despite the extensive defences that I have installed. These defences are of a far higher standard than the average user has, and infinitely higher than the Pentagon's IT best efforts!
I always sweep my PC after I have been on-line and found and destroyed these embedded spies within minute of coming off line.
Removing Rnaapp.exe and placing it elsewhere requires that a new set of instructions be given to the PC in order that a dial-out connection be made. This can be achieved by a number of means, batch files could be written to accomplish this. The articles I wrote about how to remove Rnaappe.exe and how to use Scriptit.exe, provided instructions suitable for a beginner, as it only involves copying and pasting. I could have given these instructions for activating Rnaapp.exe written in Machine code, or Batch Files, but how many would be able to understand this?
Take another look at the step by step instructions for removing this little critter and re- housing it, is really easy to do and it works! You will that your PC works a lot smoother afterwards, and my solution is reversible, simply re-place Rnaapp.exe back into Windows System and all is back as before!

Roy
