Default PHP & MySql

Hello

I have this stupid question. I want to develop some web page with php & mysql support. It will be some kind of dictionary. What I have to install on my computer at home to be able to develop such web appz ? At home I'm not connected to internet. How can I after developing this appz transfer it to server - is ftp transfer fine ?

well, to transfer the files you will have to get internet access.

as far as what you'll need to develop the apps (i'm not a php expert), you will need of course php, mysql, a webserver (apache, iis), and a text editor. but dreamweaver would most likley be easier to use then notepad (in code view).

there are more experienced php programmers on the board (i use coldfusion), so if they contradict me, listen to them.

yup. you need Apache

http://www.apache.org (get the win32 binary)

PHP

http://www.php.net (again, get Win32)

and mySQL

http://www.mysql.com

(I just realized that the tld's from those sites make up most of the internet)

anyways, follow the install instructions in install.txt in the PHP directory once you get it all extracted
