Default No major Windows upgrades for a while??

Information Week has published an article stating that the next evolution (if you want to call it that) in Windows could still be almost 5 years off. From a company that has brought you a new reason to upgrade your system every 2 to 3 years in a fairly reliable manner, this is odd. How will this affect their business plan as the majority of the rest of the company depends on revenue from the Windows division to break even? As Longhorn (codename for the next version of Windows) continues to slip even farther back one must wonder if XP may be the first version of Windows to stick around long enough to get all the bugs worked out and people get accustomed to it.
