Default

that post at bit-tech is horrible
to clear things up for anyone who is confused

PCI-X is NOT PCI Express

PCI Express powerowns PCI-X...

also i think that this 9600 is using a AGP to PCI-Express bridge so no real benefits will be seen over the AGP version

there are the R430 cores that will be the true PCI-Express cards as they are PCI Express in nature
ill be looking forward to those

PCI-X is a parallel interface just like conventional PCI. It's faster it can run at 133, and pci-x 2.0 can go to 266 mhz.
pci Express, is a serial interconnect that can run on many lanes, 4- lanes makes it almost 10 Gig. (4x 3.125) it can expand 8 and 16 lanes too.
pci express is similar to IB in terms on they are both serial and can be used for servers interconnect and clustering.
