google CPUMSR

the bottleneck for most of the laptops are the HDDs
if you ever find 7200rpm 2.5" HDDs (assuming they exist)
get it if you really want that extra performance

there were some problems with the Hitachi travelstar 60GB 7200rpm drives

they fixed the issue now
so i dont think the reliability isnt an issue anymore

i want to upgrade the 30GB 4200rpm drive on my X31 to 5400rpm w/ 8mb cache
that will be a good boost to the performance without draining a lot of battery power

My laptop has one of those 7200, but the ATA is 100, and it gets HOT. It's a 60GB drive, but it's still quite slow....even with the P4 3.06 in it...
