Default checking ports

ok is there any way for a site or a prog. can check the computer for open ports for internet usage. im just trying to search for an open port to get around filters at work. if anyone can help me just let me know. Thanks!

what computer are you looking for open ports on, i assume you are using windows. i think snort is available for win, that is useful. If it's your own machine, running the netstat command can be revealing. also, check out systinternal active ports, again, for your own computer (in case you have some sort of objection to command line utils)

I will be uploading a program called tcp scanner soon which is a very nifty port scanner....just run it at work and itll show them pretty quick

btw this belongs in networking

zone alarm doesn't do that.. net stat is good.. if you don't find some thing on the net that shows you.. i know there is but can't remember the name..
