Microsoft pulling out of WIFI business
We are almost done with our Microsoft 802.11g wireless review, but it looks like they are pulling out of the wifi business.
Microsoft has reportedly decided to exit from the WLAN market, and the Redmond giant's Taiwan WLAN OEM partners are anticipating a loss due to the decision, sources from Taiwan's WLAN makers said.
Microsoft will not produce new models of its WLAN products after the present inventory runs out, according to the WLAN OEM sources. The 802.11g and 802.11b products will be still available on shelves in the next couple of months and the two-year warranty will be applicable, the sources added.
