no question about it the 2 sticks.. that's what dual channel is all about..... come on now u.. I know all you do is program all day.. but jeeez.. that's exactly like wondering if a 160 gig drive is better than 2 80 gig drives in raid 0.. (that's what dual channel does..)

so.. yea.. the first one..

get a crap gfx card until the x800 XT comes out....the fx's are power hogs that take up a lot of room in ur case

but they do good.

make sure whwat ever card you get has pixel shader 2.0 for doom 3

Doom 3 is easy on veteran BTW

ouch... never heard anything about that mobo, never heard of that psu, for that price range $ i'd get a 9800 pro... you could get a 2500+ and oc to 3200 easy.. saving $100... but a good start away from that current pos.. btw, look at the super lanboy cases.. I like them alot.. even though i've never seen one in person..

here is what people are saying about that motherboard

Even the X800 pro is too expensive for me. And by the time XT comes out, the 5900 should be cheaper (oh it comes out the 24th. well, maybe a little cheaper). Hell by the time I have enough $$$ for all this stuff, I might be able to afford the 6800, and a new monitor that supports DVI. The 5900 does have Pixel shaders 2.0

Yeah I probably need a new case. mine isn't exacly the best when it comes to air venelation :/

as for the CPU, I don't really want to overclock. Eh. I might get a 3000+ and OC it to 3200. I dunno

yeah, but I don't want to risk OC'ing THAT much. Maybe 2800+. I dunno. by the time I actually have enough $$$ to get all this the prices probably would of gone down alot
