NESTEQ ECS7001 700W POWER SUPPLY UNIT

Packaging :

The ECS 7001 comes in a very strong cardboard box with a flip-out panel so that you can view the PSU from outside of the box thru the clear window. Included with the power supply unit itself are a bag of small black zip-ties, the manual and 4 black-finish screws to attach the power supply to the case with.

The power supply unit housed in a nice lusterless black finish that is excellently done. It almost looks powder coated the unit was so well painted. We noticed the units finish resisted our fingerprints and appears to be a hard coat finish to protect the unit from chipping and scratching. The unit is cooled via a 13.5cm fan that is quite silent. From the back of the case, you have the 24-pin ATX connector , a PSU fan speed monitoring cable, the 4 or 8-pin CPU 12V connector and 8 modular plugs. They have nicely placed a silkscreen depiction of the modular plug layout for quick and easy identification on where and what cable to connect to each one. The four horizontal modular plugs are for use with the PCI Express cables and the 4 vertical modular plugs are for use with either the SATA cables, the floppy cables and/or the hard disk drive power cables.

Also included is a large bundle of cables that should meet anyone's computer growth potential. Included are 5 extension adapter cables , 4 floppy adapter cables, 5 SATA expansion cables each with two connectors as well as an extension adapter on one end, 5 Molex connector cables each with two molex connectors as well as an extension adapter on one end,

and last but not least 4 8-pin PCIe cables that have the ability to run in either 6 or 8 pin PCIe configurations.

Conclusions:

The NesteQ E²CS 7001 700W PSU is a powerful and energy efficient unit with its' 80Plus+ rating. We were able to test this PSU in the latest In-Win B2 Stealth Bomber case that has 4 fans, LED lighting, motorized opening and closing front bay door with the MSI K9A2 Platinum motherboard, Phenom 9850 Quad Core CPU, 4 SATA hard drives and the nVidia 8800 GTX-768MB video card that has two PCIe plug-ins and even overclocked the system to a 3.10GHz clock and the power supply ran flawlessly and quietly, never letting us down. The attention to design detail from the modular design, types of cables, quantity of cables provided that in effect seem to double due to their patented Enhanced Easy Connection System that allows you to effectively "extend" your cable lengths to meet your case routing needs, all the way through to the hard coated lusterless black paint job on the case and fan grill that not only looks fantastic but resisted our fingerprinting and scratching attempts indicate to us that the people at NesteQ are serious about the quality of their power supplies and want to provide to the computer community a power supply that can be cable customized to your hearts desire.
