NZXT Whisper - Silent Computer Chassis

Provider:  NZXT
Manufacturer:  NZXT

Conclusion:

This case is very spacious and is a great choice for people with lots of hard drives and DVD drives. Is it completely silent? No, but no case really can be as long as there are fans to the outside. It does come very close though, and definitely lives up to its name. There is a very noticeable difference between noise from the Whisper and most of the cases we have tested. I actually had trouble sleeping the first few nights, due to a lack of white noise from case fans, but pleasantly got over that very quickly. The insulation also does not trap heat as some may think. Instead it is more the lack of circulation in the top half that increases heat, or rather doesn't decrease it. I would have had a hard time recommending it at the $140 price tag if NZXT hadn't saved face at the last minute. Luckily they did, and now I can happily recommend it. The only downside is that they don't include some kind of gravity distortion mechanism, as the case can get really heavy when fully loaded (50+ lbs.). A man can dream though. I wish they had included some power extenders so you don't have to stretch out your PSU. All in all this is a very good case and functions very well. I think that the NZXT Whisper should have a nice place in your next build.
